Coastal hydraulics and -engineering

50 years experience in marine, port, coastal engineering projects and hydraulics including physical model test and research in these areas

The now 50 years of work experience within coastal engineering and rivers, and the physical processes that take place there, have been very fascinating and interesting. It is necessary to understand nature if, as an engineer, you are tasked with making an intervention or making a project for structures, such as ports, piers, coastal protection or river regulation structures.

It is the understanding of nature and the physical processes such as wind, waves, tides, water level, current, sediment transport and coastal morphology in a given area, where you make studies, assessments or projects that form the background.

Only by having understood these processes and parameters and their mutual interaction, you can assess what will happen on site during a physical intervention such as the introduction of a hydraulic structure or the construction of a port.

I have extensive experience in these areas from working with approximately 400 projects worldwide, and I have been to 60 different countries in connection with projects.

Let us collaborate on climate adaptation and coastal engineering projects

The home page has been initiated in order to better get into contact with others that are facing these problems, or that have a special interest in these subjects. Thereby, we may have fruitful dialog for enhancing the knowledge that is so very important for the future climate adaptation of towns and coastal areas in Denmark and abroad.

Contact me to see whether there is a basis for cooperation about solving coastal engineering problems, or for a dialog about this very interesting subject, that I, always and still, personally take much interest in.
